Since November 15, we have been engaged in active dialogue with credit rating agencies, during which we presented and analysed in detail our current and future performance. I was not surprised by the negative decisions of the agencies, in spite of our different assessment. It is challenging to offset the risks associated with the newly introduced, extraordinary tax payment in a highly cyclical industry, even if our performance is at the forefront of European producers. The rating agencies had to react on this.

Pétfürdő, 9 March 2022 - The war in Ukraine created an extraordinary situation in the European and Hungarian economies. Natural gas prices have more than doubled and the risk of energy supply security has also increased. Government decisions that unpredictably affect market fundamentals of agriculture (eg. grain export restrictions) further increase our market risks, what forced us to halt temporary our ammonia production.

The Hungarian Ministry of Agriculture was consulting last Friday, Nov 19, with wholesalers and retailers in the Hungarian fertilizer market, “how to keep Hungarian fertilizers at home”. “All possible means must be used to secure the supply of Hungarian farmers with fertilizers” was stated on the portal of Agrokep.hu

Pétfürdő, Friday, 22 October 2021 (OTS) - Nitrogénművek Zrt./Bige Group was informed of the decision of the Hungarian Competition Authority (GVH) on 22 October 2021. The decision is 250 pages long and is still under evaluation. However, it is safe to say that we do not agree with the fundamentals of the decision.

Pétfürdő, 6 October 2021, Wednesday (OTS) - Nitrogénművek supports the statement of industry association Fertilizers Europe calling on the European Commission and Member States’ authorities to take immediate action to address the critical situation on the fertilisers market. Record-high gas prices are negatively impacting the profitability of ammonia production across Europe, leading to a number of fertiliser factories announcing plant closures. After a short maintenance break, Nitrogénművek Zrt. has commenced production, thus ensuring the security of supply for the Hungarian agriculture sector in the upcoming fertilisation season.
