Use

Ammonium hydroxide is used in the industry mostly for the neutralisation of acids and as a nitridating agent for hardening metals, for the digestion of certain ores and for degreasing. High purity sal ammoniac is used in the pharmaceutical industry. It is also a commonly used laboratory chemical and a well-known household detergent.

Transport

In line with ADR/RID regulations and according to the safety data sheet.

Sal ammoniac is transported in tankers on rail and in plastic balloons (min. 1 m³) and tanker trucks on public roads.

Storage

To be stored in a cool place. Due to the irritating effect of the toxic ammonia gas released at the time of its use, the applicable safety rules must be strictly observed.
